Fall Highlights 1 Helping Hands!

Fall Highlights 1 Helping Hands! In July, August and September, Hirsch received helping hands from both old and new partners who provided much needed resources to our students!  In July, the Daughters of the American Revolution once again provided academic and artistic school supplies for the teachers to begin the year with innovative and creative lesson plans to engage their students more effectively in the classroom.

In addition, Hirsch developed a new partnership with Cannon and Wendt Electric company which donated 8 IPads and 3 computers for 2-3rd grades to have more interactive and independent learning opportunities.

In August, the Arizona Law Enforcement Outreach and Support organization met students and their families at Hirsch after school where they donated backpacks with school supplies and gift cards to Payless Shoes for 40 students, while providing them with a pizza snack and inviting them to take pictures with police officers.  This was an exciting opportunity for students to not only receive assistance, but also get to know their local police officers up close!

Finally in September, the Assistance League of Phoenix  returned to Hirsch in its “Bus of Dreams” to deliver a whole wardrobe of new uniform tops and bottoms, socks, underwear, athletic shoes, belts, hygiene kits and books to 80 students! With these generous donations, partner organizations have provided a helping hand to students, enabling them to begin the school year in a stronger position to achieve academic success!
